Royal Beach Club Santorini

Book the free access pass at blcomino.com if you plan to step ashore. Ferries run from Ċirkewwa on Malta and from Mġarr on Gozo.
The Blue Lagoon is the channel between Comino and the tiny islet of Cominotto, where shallow water over white sand turns an almost unreal shade of turquoise. On a calm day you can swim across to Cominotto, and the clear water makes it one of the best places in the islands to snorkel.
Its fame has a cost. In July and August boats arrive one after another from Malta and Gozo, and by midday the rocks around the bay are packed with sunbeds and people. Come early in the morning or late in the afternoon and it is a much calmer place.
Comino has no towns and no public transport, and the lagoon is part of a protected Natura 2000 site. Visitor numbers are now capped: anyone stepping ashore needs a free timed pass booked in advance, while those who stay on their boat do not. There are kiosks, toilets and sunbeds to hire, but bring your own water and shade.
Stunning water, but very busy at midday. Go early or late, and book the access pass before you travel.
