About this stay
Urban Valley Resort & Spa was our base on our first land trip to Malta, in July 2023. It is a large, modern resort hotel in San Ġwann, beside the Wied Għollieqa valley nature reserve, with two outdoor pools, a children's pool and a spa with an indoor heated pool, sauna and treatment rooms.
The hotel itself was decent, with nothing to complain about but nothing that stood out either. The real issue was the location. San Ġwann is a residential area inland from St Julian's, and reaching Valletta and the main sights meant long, hot waits for buses that often ran late.
If you have a car, or plan to spend most of your time by the pool, it works. For sightseeing by public transport, we would choose a hotel in or near Valletta next time.
A decent hotel, but too far from Valletta to recommend as a base for sightseeing.
