Our stay at the Sheraton Lima Historic Center was overall enjoyable, especially once we settled into our room. The hotel’s interior is beautifully designed — elegant yet classic, with wide hallways that make it feel grand and spacious. The atmosphere gives a sense of old-school charm that fits perfectly with its location in Lima’s historic district. From our room, we had a fantastic view overlooking the city, which was especially stunning at sunset.

City view from high balcony
A cityscape under a cloudy sky, viewed from a high balcony.

Check-in wasn’t the smoothest part of the experience; we had to wait quite a while for our room to be ready, and the reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming. It’s a pity because first impressions count, and the rest of the hotel is impressive. Once inside, though, the room itself made up for the wait. It was large, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Hotel room with large bed
A neatly made bed with white linens in a well-lit room.

The only real downside was the bathroom setup — the shower curtain felt a bit outdated and clingy, which didn’t match the otherwise solid quality of the room. A glass door would definitely bring it up to the standard you’d expect from a Sheraton. Still, we slept very well thanks to the comfortable beds and quiet environment, which matters most after long days of sightseeing.

Another big plus is the hotel’s location. It’s right next to a small shopping center with a good mix of stores and casual eateries, making it easy to grab a bite or do some quick shopping without going far. Despite a rocky start at check-in, the Sheraton Lima Historic Center turned out to be a comfortable and convenient base for exploring one of Lima’s most fascinating neighborhoods.
