Zona Arquelogica Moray

Moray is an ancient Incan site made of deep, circular terraces. It looks like a massive green amphitheater carved into the ground. These rings weren’t for shows, though. The Incas actually used them as an agricultural laboratory to see which crops grew best at different heights.

The temperature changes quite a bit from the top level to the bottom, sometimes by as much as 15 degrees Celsius. This helped them grow a variety of plants in one spot. When you visit, you can walk along the paths to see the stone walls. It is a clever piece of engineering.
