Ollantaytambo Archeological Site

You can find these massive stone ruins right at the edge of town. It’s easy to walk there from the main square. You will see huge terraces carved into the mountain. These were used for farming long ago. The stairs are pretty steep, so take your time as you climb up.

At the top, look for the Temple of the Sun. It has six giant granite blocks that fit together perfectly. These stones were brought from a quarry miles away. It’s a great spot to see the layout of the valley and the town below.
