If you fancy a change of scenery and a proper reset, Boracay really is the ultimate place for it. Ocean breeze, laid-back vibes, white sand between your toes — ahh. But if you want to spice things up, or simply fill a day with something memorable, you will never run out of things to do here. In our short holiday, we did two activities and genuinely got our money’s worth. Here’s the full rundown — including everything we didn’t try personally, because someone has to do the research so you don’t have to!
| 💡 Most Important Tip Before You Book Anything – Always book your excursions through the official Department of Tourism (DOT) booths. They’re available at all three stations on the island and very easy to find. Not only do you get a licensed, official guide — you also get fixed, regulated prices with no haggling and no nasty surprises. In almost every case, they are cheaper than independent providers on the beach. Do not skip this! |

01. Island Land Tour (E-Trike) ✓ WE DID THIS
This is perfect if you want to see a side of Boracay that most tourists miss — beyond the beach. We hopped into our own private e-trike (electric tricycle) and explored Puka Beach, Newcoast Beach and its modern township, the beautiful Lugutan Mangrove Park, and the famous Keyhole rock formation. It’s surprisingly varied for a small island, and having the comfort of your own vehicle makes it feel like a proper little adventure rather than a rushed bus tour.

02. Paraw Sailing ✓ WE DID THIS
This is arguably the most iconic activity on the island. A paraw is a traditional Filipino outrigger sailboat, and gliding across Boracay’s crystal-clear waters on one feels magical. We did the daytime sailing — a full, private hour on the water — and it was utterly peaceful. Most people opt for the sunset paraw, and honestly, I can see why; Boracay is famous for its spectacular sunsets, and sailing through that golden sky would have been incredibly romantic.

03. Island Hopping
Island hopping is the most popular tour on the island. You join a shared boat and set off to explore the surrounding islands, typically visiting Crystal Cove Island, Crocodile Island (brilliant for snorkelling), Magic Island (known for cliff diving!), and Puka Beach. Lunch is included in the joiner price, and guides are on hand throughout. It’s a brilliant way to see beyond White Beach and discover quieter, more secluded coves you’d never find on your own. Note that some entrance fees (like Crystal Cove) may not be included, so bring a little extra cash.

04. Parasailing
If you’ve ever wanted to see Boracay from the sky, this is your chance. You’re harnessed to a parachute and lifted into the air by a speedboat, soaring high above the turquoise coastline for around 15 minutes. The views of White Beach from above are breathtaking, and the experience is far less terrifying than it sounds — the crew are professional, safety gear is provided, and first-timers rave about how smooth it is. Going tandem with a friend makes it even better if you’re a little nervous.

05. Jet Ski
Classic, fast, and brilliant fun. You take the wheel of your own jet ski and tear across the open water at speed — especially exhilarating when the sea is a little choppy. Jet skis can carry a rider and passenger, so it’s great as a couple activity too. Guides are on the water and life jackets are provided. The 30-minute option gives you enough time to really get into it without feeling rushed.

06. Party Boat
This is exactly what it sounds like — and more. Hop on a boat with fellow travellers, enjoy unlimited drinks, nibble on pica-pica (Filipino appetisers), and dance to upbeat music from a live DJ as you cruise Boracay’s coastline. Many boats now include fun extras like snorkelling, crystal kayak photo opportunities, and a floating trampoline net. For solo travellers especially, this is a brilliant way to meet people and have a genuinely memorable evening. You can book as a joiner or hire the whole boat privately for a group.

07. Sunset Acoustic Boat
If the party boat sounds a little too loud, the Sunset Acoustic Boat is its more mellow sister experience. It’s a lovely option for couples, families, or anyone who just wants to absorb that legendary Boracay sky without the DJ beats. 08. Yacht Sunset Cruise
Boracay’s most elegant way to watch the sunset. You board a proper yacht, cruise along the shoreline from Station 1 all the way to the Shangri-La and Crimson coastlines, and watch the sky light up in extraordinary shades of orange and pink. It’s spacious and comfortable — you can relax on the deck nets or sip a drink while the island drifts past. At just ₱1,500 as a joiner, it’s remarkable value for what feels like a genuinely luxurious experience.

09. Banana Boat Ride
A Boracay classic and an absolute crowd-pleaser. You sit in a line on a yellow inflatable banana and get dragged across the sea at speed behind a boat — until inevitably (and by design) the whole thing tips you all off into the water. Everyone screams, everyone laughs, and it’s brilliant. Absolutely perfect for families or groups of friends looking for something silly and fun. Life jackets are provided and a guide is always on the water with you.

10. U.F.O. Ride
The banana boat’s more dramatic cousin. You sit on a saucer-shaped inflatable — yes, shaped like a flying saucer — and get towed by a speedboat at up to 30kph, ripping through the waves while water sprays everywhere. It sounds chaotic and it absolutely is. Perfect if you have a group of friends who enjoy getting absolutely soaked and screaming at each other. Life jackets included, local safety guides on hand.

11. Bandwagon Ride
Boracay’s one-of-a-kind attraction — a spaceship-shaped float that you ride across the waves while being towed by a speedboat. The whole thing bounces and tilts unpredictably, which is basically the point. It’s a fantastic group activity that combines the thrill of a tow ride with plenty of water and laughter. Like the UFO, it’s best enjoyed with a group of people who don’t mind getting wet — or slightly airborne.

12. Hurricane Ride
Another group tow ride on a different shaped inflatable that spins and rolls as it’s dragged across the water. The ‘hurricane’ name gives you a fair idea of what to expect — controlled chaos at sea. Like the UFO and Bandwagon, it’s priced per person with a minimum group size, so round up your friends and pick whichever shape of inflatable madness appeals most. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the three.

13. Helmet Diving
Genuinely brilliant for non-swimmers or anyone nervous about putting their head underwater. You wear a large, air-filled helmet that stays completely dry inside, and you walk along the ocean floor at a shallow depth while tropical fish swim right up to you. No swimming ability required, no diving certification needed — just a sense of wonder. Kids as young as 5 can join (with parental consent), and the guides accompany you the whole time. Many people list this as an unexpected highlight of their Boracay trip.

14. Scuba Diving
For those wanting a proper dive into Boracay’s vibrant marine world, the introductory scuba diving experience requires no prior certification. 15. Crystal Kayak

16. Paddle Boarding
A wonderfully relaxing way to explore the water at your own pace. Stand-up paddleboarding is suitable for all skill levels — even complete beginners pick it up quickly in Boracay’s calm, warm waters. 17. Kite Surfing & Wind Surfing
Boracay is genuinely world-renowned for kitesurfing, particularly at Bulabog Beach on the island’s eastern side — the trade winds here make it one of Southeast Asia’s top kitesurfing destinations. Whether you’re a complete beginner wanting an introductory lesson or an experienced rider looking to hone your skills, there are multiple accredited schools along the beach with qualified instructors and quality equipment. Wind surfing is available too. Prices vary by school and session length.

18. Helicopter Ride
If you want the ultimate bird’s-eye view of Boracay — truly the most spectacular perspective of that iconic White Beach stretching out below you — this is it. The 10-minute ride takes you up over the coastline and surrounding waters, and the views are simply unforgettable. It’s a proper treat and an excellent option for a special occasion or anniversary. At ₱6,500 per person it’s on the pricier side, but the memory absolutely justifies it.

19. ATV & Zipline
Head off Boracay’s beaches and into its rugged interior for a completely different kind of adventure. The ATV ride takes you along off-road trails through the island’s lush, hilly terrain — past viewpoints, local villages, and jungle tracks — before finishing with a zipline that sends you soaring over the treetops. It’s a great combination of two activities at a very reasonable combined price, and gives you a completely different perspective on an island most visitors only ever see from the beach.

20. Wakeboarding
For the water sports enthusiast in the group, wakeboarding is an absolute must. Strapped to a board and towed behind a speedboat, you carve through the water and — with practice — launch off the wake for tricks and jumps. Boracay’s conditions are excellent for this, and both beginner lessons and sessions for experienced riders are available. The 30-minute option is good for first-timers; an hour gives you enough time to really find your feet and start having proper fun.
