About
Greece's capital sits on a broad plain between low mountains and the sea, and almost everything that defines the city traces back to antiquity. The Acropolis above the rooftops sets the frame for a visit, but the streets below it carry just as much of the story. We have been twice, most recently in July 2026.
Athens International Airport sits roughly twenty kilometres outside the city in a straight line, and most visitors come in by metro, taxi or transfer. The centre is walkable in parts, though the full city rewards more than a single day. Summer heat is real: go early in the morning and plan accordingly.
