You can visit these Mayan ruins from Cozumel in a single day. It takes a ferry ride and a bus trip to reach the site. Once you get inside, the first thing you will see is the big pyramid called El Castillo. It stands about 79 feet tall and was built to work like a giant stone calendar.

Walking around the grounds takes a few hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. It gets very hot and there is not much shade near the main structures.
