Casa Milà, more commonly known as La Pedrera, is a modernist apartment building on Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudí and is recognised for its rough-hewn limestone façade, which gives the building an almost quarry-like appearance.
The exterior balconies follow organic, irregular forms rather than conventional straight lines, a characteristic approach in Gaudí's work. The building continues to function as a cultural venue, hosting exhibitions and concerts alongside its identity as an architectural landmark.
Casa Milà holds UNESCO World Heritage status as part of the Works of Antoni Gaudí grouping, placing it among a collection of buildings recognised for their significance to Catalan modernisme and to architecture more broadly.
