about this place

If you are exploring the island, you will likely pass this spot on the main road. It is a set of large, colorful letters that spell out the island’s name. Most people stop here to take a quick photo with the sign. It is a free activity and only takes a few minutes of your time.

Behind the letters, there is a small platform where you can look out at the water. It gets busy when cruise ships are in town, so try to visit early in the morning to avoid waiting in line for pictures.

Travel Serie

Texas – Western Caribbean

This series follows our journey to Texas and beyond, starting in Houston and Galveston before boarding Harmony of the Seas for a Western Caribbean adventure. It’s our first time sailing on an Oasis Class ship, and our first time exploring this corner of the Caribbean, so everything feels a little bigger, louder, and more curious than usual. Before the cruise even begins, we spend a few days wandering Houston and Galveston—eating well, poking around local spots, and easing into travel mode—then it’s off to sea to see how this mega-ship and this region live up to their reputations. Big ship, new destinations, first impressions only.
