If you’re walking around downtown Nassau, you’ll definitely notice the bright pink buildings of Parliament Square. These were built in the late 1700s by Loyalists who moved here from North Carolina. Today, it serves as the center of the Bahamian government, housing the House of Assembly and the Senate.
Right in the middle, you’ll find a large marble statue of Queen Victoria that was put up in 1905. Since it’s located right near the cruise port and Bay Street, it’s an easy place to stop for a quick look at the island’s history.
