Royal Beach Club Santorini

Arrive early in summer to beat both the crowds and the worst of the midday heat.
Ephesus is one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman archaeological sites in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through it, you get a clear sense of what a major ancient city actually looked like at street level, which very few ruins anywhere manage to deliver.
The Library of Celsus is the image most people carry away, and it earns the attention. Beyond it, the Great Theatre can seat tens of thousands and still feels monumental from the inside. The terraced houses, which require a separate ticket, show the private side of Roman life through detailed mosaics and frescoed walls that have survived remarkably intact.
Come prepared for sun exposure: shade is limited across most of the site, so a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water matter more here than at most stops. The original marble paving is still in place on many paths, which makes it beautiful and genuinely slippery, so watch your footing. It fits easily into a day trip from Kusadasi.
We give this a recommendation without hesitation. Every visitor passing through Kusadasi should make the trip to Ephesus.
