About
Mykonos sits in the Cyclades, a group of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, and the one idea that holds a visit together is the old town. Compact whitewashed streets curl around red-roofed churches and small boutique shops, and the whole network is easy to get lost in, which is most of the point.
Mykonos Airport is close to town, roughly two kilometres away on a straight line, so the transfer is short. The island is small enough to cover a fair amount of it in a day, but the old town alone can fill several hours comfortably. Crowds are real, so arriving early makes a noticeable difference.
