Royal Beach Club Santorini

United States
A coastal city in Florida known for beaches, nightlife, and cultural diversity.
Miami is where this trip began and ended. We flew in from London two days before sailing, because we wanted to see the city rather than just pass through its port.
Those two days covered a lot. We took the train from the airport into downtown for a couple of dollars, stayed at the Marriott on Biscayne Bay with the cruise ships in view, and spent our first evening among the murals of Wynwood. The next morning a food tour of Little Havana turned out to be the highlight of the whole stay: guarapo, pastelitos, cigars, dominoes and a proper Cuban sandwich on Calle Ocho. That afternoon we watched a ship sail out past South Pointe Park, a day before our own, then walked up to the Art Deco and neon of Ocean Drive.
PortMiami is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world and sits a short drive from downtown, so a night or two in the city before boarding is easy to arrange. We sailed on Icon of the Seas from Terminal A and came back a week later, with a morning in the Everglades before our flight home.
